  3. “Nothing happened, because they weren’t readers—they were authors who didn’t give a rat’s tail about my work.” This is one of the ironies of the writer’s life, isn’t it? Most of the folks who follow and read writers’ blogs are other writers — who already have way too many books to read, not to mention the ones they’re writing, promoting, etc. Reaching readers — that’s what we should be doing. Thanks for your suggestions here!
