The quiet of
An early summer
Morning
Sinks into my soul,
Warming my spirit like coffee.
At twelve past five
The birds are present,
Singing,
Songs of love, poems of war
While I appreciate my coffee.
Feathered beings
Living swift and fierce,
Passionately,
As summer waxes into fall
And I enjoy my coffee.
